Confident Cannabis has some of the best employees in the world. Are we biased? Maybe. This feature will introduce you to our talented staff and give you an insight into our company culture. This week we’d like to introduce account manager, Lily Kerrigan.
From the Carolinas to California I am in it for the love of the plant. I enjoy using my foodservice sales and marketing background in a new industry to play matchmaker between cannabis producers and cannabis buyers. Exploring and discovering new things is my passion! Email me your best cannabis infused food and beverage recommendations at email@example.com
5 serious questions:
What is your day-to-day like at Confident Cannabis?
I’m on the phone! I love making calls and chatting with people who work with cannabis all day every day. There’s always something new to learn. Plus weed people are really interesting people.
Cannabis is an emerging market. What excited you about joining the industry?
Cannabis is being built from the ground up, quite literally. I have so much love and respect for the plant, I knew I wanted to make a difference in bringing her to a society that finally FINALLY is allowing space for her. But it shouldn’t just be manna from heaven for those with buckets to gather it…. The future of cannabis must also include healing the communities that have been harmed by prohibition. There is tremendous opportunity to put things right if we listen to the people who know the plant.
Confident Cannabis thrives on transparency. What does that transparency mean to you?
To me, transparency means showing your work, not just arriving at a number. I love that our Certificates of Analysis really tell the whole story of what’s in the products being made, sold, and bought.
What has been your favorite moment at work?
For me, it was my first Stand Up meeting when I realized that everyone was going around and talking about the things they were working on. It’s so refreshing to have an alternative to corpo-speak “high level overviews” and actually hear other people’s daily grind.
What’s been your most #StartUpLife moment?
Being witness to the genesis story our founders tell new hires. I love to hear about “the cabin” and see the first pitch deck. It puts everything into perspective and reminds me that we’re here because we came to solve a problem and all the work we do is in service of bringing trust and transparency.
5 silly questions:
There exists a divide in the office. Are you pro or anti peanut butter?
Pro-PB. Jif is my brand of choice.
What’s your dream/fantasy job?
Breakfast burrito truck owner/operator.
What was the last gift you gave someone?
Edibles by Stephanie Hua and Coreen Carroll. It’s my very favorite cookbook and cannabis literature. I give it to everyone I know that loves cooking and weed.
Do you have any hobbies?
Hiking and hanging out with my family. I love exploring all the trails in the Bay Area and taking pictures of wildflowers. I also enjoy cooking and eating!
If you had to name yourself after an existing strain of cannabis, which would you choose?
Cherry AK. It’s a favorite strain and a real sweetie that packs a punch.
Thanks Lily Kerrigan!
