What’s in a Strain: Bubba Kush

what's in a strain

The Strain:

If you’re anything like the majority of the population, you don’t get enough sleep or have trouble falling and staying asleep. This is why this week for our strain education we’re introducing you to our good friend Bubba Kush, with a heavy fanbase you may already be familiar with. If you’re looking for a relaxing yet functional strain to help you unwind after a long day, this is your savior.

The Chemistry:

Bubba Kush is a popular and classic indica with a solid, sedative high while still leaving users functional and alert. The strains original L.A. breeder claims that while one parent was an OG Kush plant, the other was an unknown Northern Lights phenotype brought back from New Orleans. The unnamed mother strain came to be affectionately known as “Bubba”. BK’s presence is vivid and bright with small to medium-sized buds. The THC content tests fairly high ranging from 15% to 23% making it potent and above average. The buds’ leaves are dark green with shades of purple throughout featuring a healthy coating of white trichomes covering the colorful leaves.

Looking at BK’s imprint on Connect, you can see Bubba Kush has terpenes including delta-limonene, beta-myrcene and beta-caryophyllene. The pungent flowers have a vague aroma of coffee and cocoa with some slight notes of fruitiness underneath. Upon exhale, the taste is mostly dank with some sweetness and hints of a peppery kick.

If you’re looking for a relaxing strain that doesn’t necessarily energize but can still help you maintain mental focus, Bubba Kush is for you. BK’s ability to provide body melting bliss without the couchlock is extraordinary. Whether you want to get sleepy, giggly, happy, hungry or all of the above, you’ll need to get your hands on Bubba Kush.
